| Pastoral Care Group |
|
The group functions in many ways supporting the sick, recently bereaved, lonely or those with mental health problems. It also sends cards on happy occasions, new babies, marriage or house moves and early baptism anniversaries. The group can often provide information and direction where professional help is required. Over the years the Group has supported many services at the church and arranged events in the community to engage with people especially the younger generation and to raise money for either church funds or other causes. The Group are regularly involved in supporting the Bereavement Service on All Souls Day and also supports other all-age services such as the Harvest Family Service. Everybody has an important function to play within the group however small it might seem and no one feels under pressure to perform a task as they have the support of the church family. The effectiveness of the Pastoral Care Group has always depended on individuals communicating with each other and ensuring the ministry team of Tom Ringland, Jane Wood and Alan Humphrey are aware of people who might need their pastoral care assistance. The group meets approximately every 2 months at the kind invitation of group members at their homes.
