 MU @ St Barts
Members and friends of the Mothers Union from the whole parish meet in St Bartholomew’s Church Hall at 7:30pm on the second Thursday of the month. The meetings programme appears in our Events Calendar.
The branch is a new branch, celebrating its third birthday in September 2010. The membership is growing and currently stands at 28. We welcome visitors to our meetings.
Members are involved in Godly Play in the parish and are also ‘helpful friends’ for Kaleidoscope.
Mothers’ Union was active in the parish several years ago with both Kirby Muxloe and Leicester Forest East branches, so we have two banners which are displayed in their respective churches.
MU supports work with families in this country and abroad responding to crises but also establishing ongoing education programmes and projects to support women and children in the third world. In the Leicester Diocese we support work in the prison and young people offenders institutions, and chalet holidays, the latter being a week at Butlins, Skegness for local disadvantaged families.
