The Kirby Muxloe Bell Ringers of St Bartholomew's church are a group of local residents who enjoy bringing the sound of church bells across the village each week. The group is often called upon to add the celebratory sound of bells to weddings and to commemorate other special occasions celebrated at the church.
The most recent events when they were sounded recently were to mark the centenary of the local school, Kirby Muxloe Primary School, and at a special open weekend when the general public were invited to visit the bell tower.

There are several bible study groups that meet at church members' houses throughout the week to explore how they understand God's word and how it is guiding them through their daily lives.
Anyone interested in joining one of the groups should contact the parish office. |

Members of the parish congregations volunteer to help out at Glenfield Hospital on Sunday mornings enabling patients to attend the morning service of worship at the hospital. Patients are brought to the service in wheelchairs, helpers stay with the patients throughout the service and then return them to their respective wards when the service has finished.
This help is much appreciated by both the patients and the hospital chaplain as without it, many would lose out on the opportunity to participate in Sunday Christian worship. |

St.Bartholomew's Family Music Group plays at the Family Service on the first Sunday of each month. We practice once or twice a month on a Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Children aged 5 or over may join when they can recognise and play five notes on any instrument, or can play the drum on the beat. Parents and grandparents are welcome to join with their children. The Music Group is designed mainly for children of primary school age, but many members stay on as they grow up, and there is a wide variety of abilities within the group. Older members are often asked to play at other services too. Once or twice a year we have an informal concert.
If you would like to join the music group please contact Carolyn Winkless.

MU @ St Barts
Members and friends of the Mothers Union from the whole parish meet in St Bartholomew’s Church Hall at 7:30pm on the second Thursday of the month. The meetings programme appears in our Events Calendar.
The branch is a new branch, celebrating its third birthday in September 2010. The membership is growing and currently stands at 28. We welcome visitors to our meetings.
Members are involved in Godly Play in the parish and are also ‘helpful friends’ for Kaleidoscope.
Mothers’ Union was active in the parish several years ago with both Kirby Muxloe and Leicester Forest East branches, so we have two banners which are displayed in their respective churches.
MU supports work with families in this country and abroad responding to crises but also establishing ongoing education programmes and projects to support women and children in the third world. In the Leicester Diocese we support work in the prison and young people offenders institutions, and chalet holidays, the latter being a week at Butlins, Skegness for local disadvantaged families. |

Pins & Needles is a small group of people who meet together once a month to share ideas about knitting, sewing and baking whilst knitting, sewing and eating!!.
The group holds two coffee mornings each year and sell the results of their handicraft. They raise approximately £1,000 per year which is divided between St Bartholomew's church funds and other charities. Charities benefitting in 2009 were the Mablethorpe Children's Holiday Home and LGH Young Disabled Group.
All materials used are either purchased or donated by the many friends of the group. These are always warmly received and greatly appreciated. |

All people from the parish are invited to meet in a parishoner's home for a simple breakfast. This is followed by a period of informal prayer for the parish and for the world. This breakfast meeting takes place in a different home each month and takes place at 7:00am on the first Thursday of each month.
